This product helps restore body water and minerals lost in diarrhea and/or vomiting to prevent dehydration.
PEDIATRIC ELECTROLYTE FLAVOURS PROVIDE (per liter or 4 cups): Sodium (45 mEq); Chloride (35 mEq); Citrate (30 mEq); Potassium (20 mEq); Dextrose (20 g); Fructose (5 g); Energy: 420 kJ (100 cal). MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: Dextrose, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Chloride and Sodium Citrate. NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: Purified Water, Fructose, Citric Acid, Artificial Apple Flavour (contains Caramel Colour), Benzoic Acid (in the 237 format only), Acesulfame-K, Sucralose.
Children under 2 years old: Consult a physician before use. Children above 2 years old: 15 mL (3 tsps) of solution per kg (2.2 lbs) of body weight over the first 3 to 4 hours; the usual daily dose is 100 to 150 mL per kg of body weight. Children weighing 14 kg (30.8 lbs) or over may take up to 2 L daily while diarrhea continues. See Dosage Chart for daily dosage by body weight.
